About Us

The site is run by Glasgow Social Care Providers Forum, with funding support from the Scottish Government which is currently conducting a public consultation process on SDS and in collaboration with Glasgow City Council Social Work Services.

The Forum is the result of a successful merger, in August 2008, of the former Glasgow Community Care Providers Forum established in 2001 and, Glasgow Children’s Services Provider Forum. It strives to build a strong provider community, where common issues can be raised, debated and represented.

Here’s what some of the major provider organisations have to say about Glasgow Social Care Providers Forum:

“All providers are facing the uncertainty of new approaches in policy, partnerships and service delivery. GSCPF has supported members to make a positive contribution to the development of Glasgow’s response to these changes, and we are optimistic that this opportunity will lead to better and more personalised services.”

– Nigel Henderson, Chief Executive,  Penumbra

“The Forum has quickly become established as the providers’ collective voice in Glasgow. No easy task representing the needs of such a diverse independent sector, while lobbying effectively on our behalf with funding agencies and regulatory bodies. Our thanks must go to the Forum staff and Board Members and also to Glasgow City Council for their financial support and commitment to the principles of the Forum.”

– Dana O’Dwyer, Chief Executive, The Mungo Foundation

The setting up of the new joint Forum between GCCPF and the Children’s Service Provider Forum represents a big step forward for providers, Glasgow City Council and the families we serve.

Aberlour welcomes the opportunity to support its work and to play our part in shaping future social care in Glasgow. Our sincere thanks to the Forum staff and members for all their hard work over the last year.

– Graham McPhie, Assistant Regional Director, Aberlour
